Raffles Le Royal is one of Phnom Penh’s oldest hotel establishments and a local landmark. Having first opened its doors in 1929, it has a long, fascinating and illustrious history. Located in the city centre, it has been beautifully restored to beyond its former glory.
Reopening in 1997 as the Raffles Hotel Le Royal, it still sets the standards other hotels try to follow. A grand and intricate fusion of French and Khmer architecture, fine interior design and first-rate service give this hotel the edge. Few properties manage to so effectively blend old world charm with modern amenities.
The 171 rooms, suites and apartments are split into two wings. Sumptuously furnished and art deco in style, they are perhaps the most comfortable and stylish in the city. State Rooms
The State Rooms, located in the new low-rise wings of the hotel, offer guests a choice of views, rooms overlooking either the hotel’s two pools or the lush landscaping around the wing blocks.
Landmark Rooms
Landmark Rooms, located in the main building, are furnished with a luxurious blend of Cambodian and art deco themes. The rooms are decorated with memorabilia and artifacts reminiscent of the Golden Age of Travel.
Landmark Suites
The Landmark Suites located in the main building are the deluxe suites of the hotel. Each suite comprises of a spacious living room and bedroom with sleigh bed and is decorated in original antiques and artwork. The bathroom also contains an original claw-footed bathtub and a private balcony. These suites are named in honour of Cambodia's ancient history: Chenla Suite, Angkor Suite, Khmer Suite and Kambaya Suite.
Personality Suites
Raffles Hotel Le Royal, Phnom Penh, offers four specially created personality suites named after famous dignitaries who once stayed at the hotel. Each suite is luxuriously appointed and contains memorabilia and artifacts associated with their namesakes. The Personality Suites are located in the hotel’s original building, the Landmark Block., and are 48 sq metres in size.

Landscape architects Belt Collins International are created a magnificent garden that has carefully incorporated mature, existing native and ornamental trees and has been extravagantly replanted to soften the horizontality of the main building and the enclosing courtyard wings.
